Now that I have a decent restock of powder I’m going to begin developing a load for a new 243 1 in 10 twist. I am curious what bullet powder combo some of you have had success with. The primary use for this rifle will be antelope and whitetail. I have H4350, imr 4350 some reloader powders 15 and 19 I think and a small amount of imr 4064.

I've had great success with the Nosler 90 AB & 95 BT with H4350, also the Hornady and Barnes 80gr mono bullet(s) with the Superformance powder.

Those are all good powders for the .243.
My favorite load is H4350 with 95g Nosler BT.
I also like the Sierra 85g HPBT with RL15. Accurate, but haven’t shot any deer with this load yet.

edit: I use I4064 with 70g Varmageddons or NBTs for varmint hunting.

I use RL26 and 95g Bergers or 90g Accubonds. Both are over 3300fps and incredibly accurate out of my Remington SPS.

Ssshhhhh!!!
It's bad enough that the Manbun crowd found out about RL26!
Don't tell the 243 crowd how well it works for heavy bullets too!

As soon as i found some i had to grab 5lbs so i had some for the 7mm Rem Mag.

It made my .243 hit like greased lightning on the two antelope I shot this year. One even did a backflip.

Used the Berger 95 grain VLD with IMR 4350 for years. Now using the 80 grain Hammer. Have some 70 grain Hammers and magic RL-26. Those should be little missiles. mtmuley

I’ve been using IMR 4064 behind an 85gr TSX for years. Never had bad results and has expanded nicely on shots from 40-250 yards.

In my 6mm Remington (very similar to a .243) I have used 42 grains of IMR4350 and 100 grain Hornady Interlock bullets (boat tail or flat base) for nearly three decades. Many many deer and antelope have succumbed to this combination.

I use 42.5 grains of imr 4350 with 100gr Sierra SBT and have had great results for years.
Planning to try some hammers once I finally use up all the sierras my grandpa left me.

That's it!!!
Keep the IMR4350 stories coming! ;)

Oh, maybe 6.5 Staball!!
Or CFE223!

I don't use those powders.... :D

What's the thought process for 80 vs 70 gr Hammers? Thinking about 70s if I get a .243.
