2024 College Football 🏈 Season starts tomorrow…. Yee Yee

TD Tommy
Retract it all! HE FLIPPED A TRASH CAN! That's hilarious.

North Dakota State should stay in the big sky. Montana State is on an upward trajectory. Winning championships doesn't happen overnight, and it wouldn't be the same if we didn't have to beat the best. I could see Lance getting drafted for sure along with their QB. They played a near perfect game; very impressive to watch. Seeing Tommy win the state championship in HS and beating out all the talented QB's eventually excelling in the FCS was pretty special to witness.

NDSU lost their first game by 5 to Coach Neon...the other loss was to South Dak by 1
Having watched all ten title teams (and many in DII) I would say this year’s team would be some where in the bottom half of them. Their D and O lines and halfback play were as weak as I have seen from them in the last decade. But it was good enough. Something to be said for the power of walking on the field expecting (not hoping) to exert your will upon the other team. Their culture is a big part of winning 18 titles

Regarding the Bison, it's been fifty years since I graduated from NDSU. The football program was top shelf well before I started attending. It is imbued in North Dakota culture that the Bison are great at football. Every grade school kid, for generations, who is decent at football, hopes they are good enough to play for the Bison.

Montana State's coaches cost the Bobcats that game. The defensive alignment that allowed the QB draw is indefensible. The failed fourth down play was a poor risk reward analysis.

I don't know, but the Montana State coach probably wants to change that one call to go for it before the half to a punt.
Punting from bison 45 would have likely put the ball only 25-30 yards back. Pure speculation as to whether that could have prevented the inevitable touchdown, but looking at the Bison drives it seems like it changed little.

Yes, speculation, but we know going for it didn't work.

They really should wait until the season is over. Cam has beaten him head to head all 3 times when it counted.
Probably had to do with timing of the award while they were in town. In any case, the only one that counted for this year was yesterday.

Even still, I can't say Cam outperformed Tommy.

I’ve watched all three of their games - Cam better in each of them, but I acknowledge the second half last night was Tommy’s best performance.

Do you think it was the coaches or the kids that caused both safeties to immediately race to the outside on those plays? I kinda think it was the coaches and that this was a tendency the NDSU staff saw on tape and set up beautifully. But possible the kids were confused about which one was supposed to stay in the middle.

The on-the-same page uncanny pass connections between QB Miller and receiver Lanse set the tone for an almost unbeatable Bison offense.
They won by 3 and scored 35. I wouldn't call that almost unbeatable especially considering the QB draw was one of the TDs.
