The problem is local population can’t support competitive program at that level - Fargo is about a half the size of Boise.Lol at what point is it time to fo fbs?
So, are state HS champs in MT, WI, IL all losers because they aren’t in Texas or Florida? Are FBS champs losers because the Jacksonville Jags would beat them 80-3? Its fun to have different levels of competition.Winners of the losers? Yeah I don't get it either and NDST always winning
Tons of fbs programs in that space/population size. K state for example. Many more out thereThe problem is local population can’t support competitive program at that level - Fargo is about a half the size of Boise.
The alumni base of KState is 5x that of ND and has a huge draw from KC. (I know, I went there for grad school).Tons of fbs programs in that space/population size. K state for example. Many more out there
Heck, there are individual players at the FBS level that make more in NIL than the whole football program budget at NDSU.The alumni base of KState is 5x that of ND and has a huge draw from KC. (I know, I went there for grad school).
For cripe sakes. Give the kid a break. Tommy is a class act. Probably the best example of a student athlete you’re gonna find.Didn’t like Tommy tipping can over . Good player but that was poor
You musta been quite the player.Didn’t like Tommy tipping can over . Good player but that was poor
I was thinking that watching the game as well. ND kept it close against Colorado this season and have a pretty good record against FBS teams in the past.Lol at what point is it time to fo fbs?

Difference is that it's not thr same team winning every yearSo, are state HS champs in MT, WI, IL all losers because they aren’t in Texas or Florida? Are FBS champs losers because the Jacksonville Jags would beat them 80-3? Its fun to have different levels of competition.
Seriously this^.For cripe sakes. Give the kid a break. Tommy is a class act. Probably the best example of a student athlete you’re gonna find.
What about Cam Miller? And he wins the big games. For cripe sakes. Give the kid a break. Tommy is a class act. Probably the best example of a student athlete you’re gonna find.
Lots of hard working kids on that field. Fun to root for the home town kids on either side.Seriously this^.
Pretty impressive what he has accomplished.
I'm sure all the NoDak players were saying kind things when he crossed their sideline.

Rose Bowl be damned. The Toledo Bright Shine Bowl is the biggest day of the year! For the “Dakota” teams dominance to stop, the Big Sky is going to have to get better across the board. One advantage the Dakota schools have is that they play several games in each regular season against championship level quality teams and five or six other playoff quality teams. It makes the semis and title game competition “normal” for them. As I see the Dakota schools plow through the playoffs every year I see opponents who are play this level of competition for the first time this season and sometimes first time in their career.
I would rather the Big Sky come up so its top half is as consistently strong as the MVFC, than have the two Dakota State teams move up to be FBS after thoughts and deal with the NIL and portal mess we have there. I wish JMU, Appalachia State, Georgia Southern and Sam Houston State had all stayed in FCS rather than moving up and struggling to make the “Dec 3rd Who The Hell Cares Car Wash Bowl in Toledo Ohio”.
