2024 College Football šŸˆ Season starts tomorrowā€¦. Yee Yee

Iā€™m not predicting a ND championship, especially for the reasons you mention, but their defense is going to make a difficult road for whoever they line up against

I'll certainly give you that. They play complementary football and with few mistakes, and a stout defense.
However, I don't think PSU, and certainly not OSU get held to 10 pts.

2018. Alabama. Tua. National Champ. Probably more.
Not really considering half the game was over.

College Football Playoff National Championship: Alabama 26, Georgia 23 (OT) | Jan. 8, 2018

With Alabama trailing SEC foe Georgia 13-0 at halftime of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, Alabama coach Nick Saban sent then-backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to try to ignite the Crimson Tide's offense in the second half. Tagovailoa had backed up starter Jalen Hurts all season and he was 35-for-53 passing for 470 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception in his reserve role in the regular season. So he had played some and performed very well ā€” typically in the second halves of blowout wins ā€” but this was the second half of the national championship game.

Given the circumstances, Tagovailoa was just what the doctor order. He went 14-for-24 passing for 166 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, including the game-winning strike to DeVonta Smith in overtime, giving the Crimson Tide another national championship.

I don't think anyone wins without their staring QB. That included Georgia.

2014 Buckeyes. 3rd stringer Cardale Jones QBā€™d. They beat Alabama at the Sugar Bowl. Also beat the Ducks for the championship, but that was kind of an afterthought.

Ok, so which team will win if their starting QB doesn't play the rest of the games?

Jawjaā€™s 2nd team qbā€™s pedigree no showed. ND is better today than I thought. Will Howard has OSU peaking, UTā€™s defense has their work cut out. I am not confidant in the Hornā€™s offense. ASU lopsided every stat but the scoreboard.

That said forkfinder, Iā€™m hoping you have a crow sammich on the menu. šŸ˜Š

So are you arguing with yourself now?

I have to tell you that this format has really made it fun for me. The championship run is very exciting and a bit unpredictable. Most of the games you could see coming, but ND winning caught me off guard. I thought Oregon had more, and really didn't pay attention to Scattebo much until this game.

Super fun.
Iā€™m sure Iā€™m in the minority but I absolutely disagree. We had an entire round of terrible games, tv ratings back that. Itā€™s rare that there would be 8 teams that should realistically play for a national title, much less 12 or the 16 that weā€™re probably headed for. I donā€™t want Cinderella in the playoffs, I want to see the best on best. It shouldnā€™t be about inclusion and who ā€œdeservesā€ a chance.
