Some public hunting, mostly private on a place I lease/manage but it probably beats a political argument.
Season started like always with doves, we had a big group down and killed a bunch of birds, my kids held their own:

Then two nephews came down and got a couple of nice early season bucks:

Then in October my Dad had a great NM elk tag over in Hank’s neighborhood; we had a great time, but unfortunately had to cut the trip short without a harvest due to a family medical emergency at home:

Quail season kicked off when we got home from NM, we had a bumper crop of Bob Whites and Blues:

Then the kids and I set off to Colorado for a 3rd season OTC elk hunt. We were in elk almost every day but just couldn’t get on a legal bull, great time though:

Home from Colorado and our whitetail season got going in earnest:
My son brought a buddy and got him his first buck:

That evening I took my youngest nephew out and got his first buck:

Same evening my son killed a nice buck:

the next week my daughter brought a friend and got her her first buck:

Then another nephew came down and I got him on his second buck, but by far his best:

Daughter brought down another friend:

My son brought another friend down and killed his first buck:

I got one of the guys on an elusive buck that same evening:

Next morning my son killed another buck:

My buddy’s son came down and got his second buck:

Finished the season out hunting quail with the kids (no, that’s not a real hunting dog
):

Anyways, that was my season highlights. There was another 20 or so bucks killed on the place including some real nice ones. A few nice ones to chase next year:
