I drew 37a elk and 14 deer late

Spent a summer establishing hectare forest/vegetative plots in units 37A and 51 in '97. My report writeup for the Challis NF was that I found no soil in the Lemhi range. Wore out 2 pair of boots and it finished off my '91 F250. Steep and young lava rock that was mean to work in. Had a good contract and made $.

I drew 1 out of 3, a bull elk tag in a unit I have been learning for years by hunting deer and cow elk.

It's time to ramp up my workouts, it's a steep area.

I drew the (nonres... sry) 60-1 elk tag for october! Stoked to spend a few days chasing bugles with a rifle! Spent a couple days checking it out and it is thiiiiiick pretty much everywhere i've been. like 30-30 country. will get to spend a couple more days checking out other areas that are hopefully a little more conducive to rifle success.

Happy little accident. I looked at old hunt plan data for the hunt code and drew a tougher to draw unit. Got the tag in the mail yesterday.
