Well bear number one for this fall is down. I went out scouting for elk and saw a bear that slipped away. I couldn't resist heading out the next night to see if I could relocate him. Almost gave up, but headed into the area I'd seen him. I spotted him, laying down at only about 30 yards, so, I waited for him to stand and put a good shot on him. He turned out to be a her, but pretty little round bear anyway

Sorry for the marginal photo, I had a tough time getting a good pic in the dark, solo this time for some reason :)

Congrats on the bear but he needs to be in my summer thread. 😀

Congratulations on a good bear! They are number 1 on my bucket list. I'm headed to Virginia next month to try to get it done.

I decided not to get a tag….

Congrats on your first bear.

I've hunted two of them and had to shoot a third one in self defense. I enjoyed eating the first two and had a rug made from the first one, but that's enough for me. I haven't even bought a tag for the last 40 years. Now I just enjoy watching them.

But grizzly and brown bears, that's a different story...
