2023-2024 Chukar Adventures

Last go of the year. 7.3 miles in mostly dense fog with just a couple breaks. Birds didn't hold worth shit. No breeze. Dog was frustrated as I've never seen him. Watch says 6k vert, but it has to be lying, no way it was much over 3k. 1 goddamn bird. How does that caloric math $*)Q!#@$ work.

Oh, and the few red legged bastards we found were all in this snow covered softball rubble. #*^@#* this. I'm taking up knitting.

Been a decent year, dog has done well, shooting was a C+. Also managed to put a stick through my hand when i tumbled on the hill. Just finished the chukar season yesterday here in CA, good end to the season with three birds and good dog work, sadly should have had 4, the bird tumbled but never found feathers or the bird.

I finished up my season in the chukar flats. It was a rainy, wet, muddy mess. Already can't wait until next year. The birds are in great shape and this winter has been very easy on them.
Is there anything more pathetic looking than a soaking wet bird? This one flopped all the way down a slope and into a creek today.
