I don’t think the “grace period” applies to the CC charges, it’s just the period of time that if you decide to turn your tag in you get your money back AND your preference point, vs one or the other

I think they “pushed the button” on the 5th of May. Why it takes 4 weeks with the technology we have to release the results is hard to fathom.

Incorrect assumption. Same process s as last year. The new part is being able to return the tag early and avoid the longer rebate process that happens later.
