Waterfowl hunting seems to provide very beauriful colors and pictures

First year trying out waterfowling. Only gone out two times so far. The first time all I found was mud. This last weekend I at least found some water, and even saw some ducks! Sadly, not before they saw me and took off. I also learned that a stool/chair is a must have.

Had a nice quiet morning standing over my decoys, though. Going to try again this weekend, and hopefully get a blind for the military/veteran “season” at the wildlife area.

Went yesterday, 2 weeks left in our season, finally got the mallard limit (5) and a pintail. Mallards were actually sparse, had to be patient, let 100s of teal and widgeon fly by, I was finally on the X. Also had 100s of pintails fly by, unfortunately my good camera was not working, here are a couple of low quality phone pics.

Went out Wednesday with my brother. Could have shot more ducks but was his dogs first "big boy" hunt in the water so spent a lot of focus on keeping straight and training.

Season is winding down, the numbers aren't there but the quality still is.

I dunno. Be careful about posting that pic. Child welfare agencies are always looking for something to whine about. Seriously. I think we should make this disappear.

Went out this morning. It was 15 degrees, waded over 700 yards across open water and set up decoys in open water. While waiting on sunrise everything froze.

first avian flu bird of the season, came in and landed, started shaking his head and trembling.
We walked him off. Didn’t fly away till guy was almost on top of it. Sad!

First season really getting after ducks, lots of effort and lots of fun. Now I need to find a way to enjoy eating them,probably my least favorite game to eat.
