almost an all drake limit. Plenty of birds on the marsh today. I'll be back after them again tomorrow.

This was on the way in after shooting a limit. All corn stuffed mallards from river bank to river bank. Was most likely shoot of the year.

they are thick on the marsh so I'm doing my part. 5 days in the dry aging chamber is magic on waterfowl.

I don't think the ducks got the memo to move south but managed to scratch out a few. Had to use the layout blind on an island in the marsh to get close to the X.

We had some ringnecks buzz the spread last weekend. Fast little buggers. They would come in behind us and were past before we could even get the guns up.

A few weeks ago, I got the permission slip signed for a day hunt, so long as I was home before kiddo got up from his nap

No wind, mid morning fog and 50 degrees. Not ideal, and I was just happy to be going out. Expectations were low.

Ended up having my personal best day, 6 specks, a snow and a cackler. mostly pass shooting, got a few to play in the decoys and others just appeared out of the fog. Thankful for any and all opportunities to get out!!
