I just found out that my compadre and me were drawn for the gator hunt at JD Murfree! I was lucky enough to have drawn this once before and it was a hoot.

I always say I’m not gonna do it but it’s too cheap to apply, so I put in for six different hunts. I really only apply for places that would seem like an adventure.
I think this will be the first year I bow out in quite a while. Just not worth even the few dollars per hunt and even if I were to draw, the restrictions on most hunts make the experience lame. TPWD really is a joke when it comes to public lands.

They are basically just draw hunts on public land, mostly state park land.
That's incredible! How many bonus points did you go into the draw with? My sense is, after the changes were implemented two years ago (Texas now uses a cubed bonus point system), I will never draw.
