Had some success on my first year of archery hunting! I landed this big boy on the last day of my hunt and nearly didn't even go. My girlfirend and I usually hunt together but she was down with a cold at camp and I nearly stayed at camp with her. Luckily she pushed me out of bed and told me to get up in the hills. So I did and 15 minutes into the hunt a bull bugled so I bugled back and three others bugled all around me. I couldn't believe it. We had been in elk nearly every day out but to have four all bugeling around me was amazing. So I set up on the bull that was closest. After making two adjustments and still not gaining real interest from him i decided to go after the meanest sounding bull and it worked out. I called this one into 20 yds and made a perfect shot. He went 80 yds and laid down to take a nap. I think it worked out because I forgot the camera at home this trip. The cell phone camera doesn't work out so well so I had to take some pics at home the next day to savor the momories of my first archery bull.
