1924-2024

One of two Presidents to serve their country in the Navy.

A group of us builders helped 4 families raise walls on their homes during lunch, we were working down the road. Habitat projects.
Jimmie & his bride where there helping.

I never heard of peanut problems growing up.

It's funny how time changes perspective. I didn't vote for him, and I was pissed how he handled the crisis with Iran. Now looking back, I think he showed great maturity and restraint. I think history will be very complimentary of his presidency. Wish he could be there to run today.

There are several. 3 in the 20th century I can think of off the top of my head. But yeah.

JFK, Carter, Nixon, H.W., Ford, and Johnson are considered Navy vets. Perhaps not all combat vets.

Also on a related note, both Roosevelts were assistant secretaries of the navy prior to their presidencies.

One would be correct in arguing that it was TR who made the United States Navy a super power through the adoption of new technologies. Both he & Churchill were at the forefront of diesel technology, etc moving Navies off of steam and wind towards ICE's.

Johnson received the silver star for gallantry.
