Need advice on a tripod and head
Slik 634 and tricer lp, but I don’t shoot off it. Protip: for backpack hunts I remove the lower two leg sections and the aluminum center column (which I replaced with a CF center column to save weight) and it makes the entire thing 640g with the tricer lp, at 44” tall -

Experience with Durston Tents?
Used a Xmid 1p pro during elk this year, sold it after my trip and upgraded to the 2p solid. Fantastic tent- TheAri

Sofrin/Peax headlamps
Bought two of the sofrin, one with white and one with red light. The Peax according to his research is 30% better but like 4x the cost. Not worth it imo- TheAri

Baking soda and ground meat?
Legit technique that prevents the water from boiling the meat, the baking soda seals in the moisture and allows for it to brown and retain more moisture- TheAri

EOY '24 - What Worked, What Didn't
Loved my backpack setup this year except for my: tent, quilt, bino harness. Ended up selling those items and getting a hot tent setup for next year with a warmer quilt and a stone glacier bino harness- TheAri
