My brother & I watch the movie "Escanaba in Da Moonlight" the night before heading to our camp. A strange story with Jeff Daniels, Harve Purcell and some others.
My first & only bear (so far ) was Labor day weekend up in Klickitat County, Wa. Around 8 am Saturday morning. I was with my brother. Long story short.....I shot him. What an experience! I will never forget a single second of that morning. Yee Haaa!
Davis makes a good tent. I don't know where you are located, but if you are in SW Washington, look into Bravo tents. Quite possibly the best tent on the market. Even if not in SW Washington, take a long look at them. We had one for about 18 years before we sold it as we did not need it any more...
I'll be 68 next month and have hunting partners who are 53 and 51. I don't try to keep up with them. I just hunt the same general area and look for flat ground and stumps. I generally go from dawn to noon or 1 pm. 5 or 6 hours, and then I'm ready for camp. I'll keep going on until it's not fun.
I've had the shingles vaccine and had no issues afterwards. I had shingles about 45 years ago and it was a real bitch. I've had several friends get shingles and it was not good.
If the side walls are 5 foot, add another $350. 5 foot sidewalls make a big difference. If the internal frame is steel, add another $200. I think that Davis frames are steel.
Saw the same sign way south of Lordsburg, NM. Disregarded the warning & headed for Douglas, AZ. Ran into some folks that caused me to draw my side arm. Oozed out and made it back to friendlier folks...
