    Coyote problem

Didn't make it out to my deer hunting property all year till season opened. Was surprised at the lack of sign and didn't see a single deer in three hunts which is very odd. Fourth time out the beans had been picked and only thing I saw was three coyote pups. Went home and checked zero on my...

Suppressor Accuracy on a Previously Unthreaded Barrel

I've had a couple of mine threaded for suppressors with no loss of accuracy, if any thing it got better but that's probably due to me not having to deal with the noise and concussion of the muzzle blast.

    What's on the smoker today?

Had it in brine for five days. Cold smoked with apple wood for 3 1/2 hours then indirect heat on the grill at 175-200 till internal temp hit 145°.

    Elk Rifle

I like the way my browning x- bolt 300 win mag carries and handles in the field ,plus it's very accurate. It's a bit heavier than some but feels very solid compared to some of the other brands. One thing to be aware of with the x- bolt if you want to run a suppressor, mine came with a radial...

Question for those who have rebarreled a rifle...

The two I had rebarrelled I got the the old barrels back with the rifles. Told the Smith he could keep em but he just laughed and said he's got no use for worn out barrels. So now they sit on my scrap steel pile.

    Power bank

I'm probably the oddball here but have been using a cordless screwgun battery and an adapter to charge phone and headlamps . A bit bulky and maybe a few ounces heavier but cheap if you already have the battery anyway. One 5.0 lasts me a week pretty easily.

    DIY Walk in Cooler Design

I built mine out of reject plywood from work and 2 layers of 2" foam. 5' wide by 8' long and 7' high. Coolbot and a window ac , I can maintain 35° pretty easily. I built a framework into the ceiling with a bunch of hooks for hanging deer and elk quarters.

What to do with carcasses and bones?

Burn it, or sometimes trash if trash pickup is within a day or two.

    Would you Rather

I don't necessarily think they taste better, just more tender if your a steak guy. Elk burger I haven't noticed much difference, but I also haven't shot a bull during the rut so that might negatively affect the flavor.
