I wouldn't be sad if they closed some roads and made more roadless area here in MS.
They could save some money by closing some of the offices. I've been in a few(around the country) to get firewood permits and it doesn't seem like much going on. It's cool to see some taxidermy and local...
It wouldn't be hard to explain if they had small game tips. And I doubt there is any requirement for specific broadhead to shoot grouse.
I almost packed mine along on my sons muzzy hunt to shoot grouse, but decided to focus on elk and not mess with the grouse(until the last day when I got one...
There are like 6 or 7 NR tags on this hunt. Their odds are lower because if their name is pulled and there are only two tags left they strike out. They won't over-allocate tags.
It's still possible, just less likely to draw.
None for Nonresident to my knowledge...
I do wish they would allocate some cow-only tags for nr youth just for some more opportunity, most nr's are bull hunting on an es tag anyway.
Permethrin on clothes
extra deet bug spray when its warm an they're bad
check for them periodically
Put laundry straight into washing machine when you get home or trash bag it in the field or at home if you're not washing right away.
I'd say leave them alone, unless it's killing the tree. If it ain't yours and isn't hurting anything you're just stealing. There is National forest that I have some that stay out for years. I use ratchet straps and replace them every year or two, so it isn't killing the tree.
Now if it's...
You sound like you want to hunt nearly every species. If something like the NA29 slam is something you're after, you should be applying for everything everywhere. Likely you don't have the budget to do all at first so do the ones that make the most sense. Wyoming doesn't make sense to ever...
That is an awesome story and hell of a hunt! Thanks for sharing!
Maybe a topic for its own thread, but I always wonder why there isn't more interest in increasing wild herds. My guess is the cattle industry among others who would have issues with it.
I would think bringing them back and...
Hunted in 2021 from Sep 12-29 and the pressure was pretty good. Left for another hunt and made it back to MT for Oct. 17, the last day of archery. Saw no people in the woods that day, but 9 bulls. Cow called into 35 yards of a couple feeding bulls and let an arrow go with fading light. Hit a...
Yea, I got a buddy who might go if he can get one. I don't need any more tags, we'll be lucky to fill a few of the ones we got. I'll be working 6 days a week, but probably on nights, so only plan on hunting a couple of hours in the mornings maybe every other day. I just put us all in cause I...
Anyone know when the leftovers(if there are any) will go on sale?
I don't see anything on their website other than: "Any leftover non-resident spring turkey permits will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis."
