    Snapper fishing fun

Here in Australia it's the start of our snapper season. In Melbourne from Nov to about Feb the local waters are filled with crazy fishos trying to get a haul. The other weekend I got out with the kids to black rock which is a local snapper haunt to try and chase some big snapper and pinkies. Was...

Is the Labrador breed heading in the wrong direction?

Love this guy and no idea what this guy weighs, somewhere in the range of 30 to 35kg but he loves duck hunting and playing with my kids. His dad was a english box head and mum an American shape which he took most of his mum's good looks but got a bit of his dad's solid frame.

Largest Sand Island in the world "Fraser Island"

Wasn't exactly sure which thread to put this so here we are. In Australia / Queensland where you can stay / camp and drive on the largest sand island in the world "Fraser Island" and I had been hanging out to get up there for over 2-3 years but covid put a halt to any interstate trips for me...

Salt water fun with the kids

On holiday with the family after a 2000km drive to queensland from Melbourne. Decided to try our luck in the local waterways, grabbed the boys and stopped at a bridge just before our hotel and we walked down to the pylons and chucked out their rods with prawns. Didn't take long and the bites...

Not much. You can buy it in supermarkets but it's not a huge seller. Big market for petfood mainly here.

    Kangaroos in WY

Ignoring the April fool joke but If they ever did release them within 3 years they would be out of control. They are bad enough here in Aus. Every female has a baby in their pouch from just born to nearly 2ft high.. they reproduce at a remarkable rate. Bit they are good fun to shoot. My 204...

    Australia duck opening fun

Here in Australia our duck season starts on a Wednesday which are ruled out for me with work but Saturday it was on. Rang my local farmer and teed up a few of the boys for some dam and river jumping. A lazy 8am start and the first few dams surprisingly held nothing. Then slowly started picking...

    Long overdue catch-up

Managed to snag 4 deer for the day which was a great result. This guy came out and ran down a road for about a K and I came around the corner and caught up to him as he was hauling ass down the road. By the time I managed to slide to a stop Me jump out of the truck he was out of sight , the dogs...

    Is New Zealand Over-hyped?

Australia also has plenty of reds, sambar, chital and fallow , fishing at similar costs and very low licensed fees etc. Plus we leave the sheep alone over here :P

    Long overdue catch-up

Here in Australia Covid restrictions stopped us going to parties, funerals and weddings. Sadly a legend in the hound hunting community passed away who I was lucky enough to be part of the hound team along with my father and grandfather for many years. I started going bush with dad not long...
