It's rewarding to make your own arrows from blanks, but I now use the Gold Tip trad line as well. Have fun with it though- it's a big learning curve, but well worth it. Also, I started using the AAE trad vanes and didn't look back. Thanks for the post. Gives me a nudge to start shooting my trad...
Loved my Kenetreks for about a year. Then they went downhill with waterproofing and wear. They wore out extremely fast on me, causing a lot of pain in my feet (even with multiple attempts at different inserts) and my feet were wet even with dew on the grass. For the record, I take very good care...
Been a strange archery season. Very few elk in the normal spots, and extremely quiet overall. I did end up stalking to 38 yards of this guy, but only had the option for a Texas Heart Shot. On the bright side, the wife did find a consolation prize. the fat lady hasn't started singing yet though!
I always like seeing this thread pop up, along with the "History Found in the Field" thread. I feel like this old shack that I came across on Forest Service land this weekend would count for both. A lot of old coffee cans, etc. from the 50s or 60s were laying around in this one. Some newer...

Smartwool has been far less durable than Darn Tough for me. I like DT and prefer over the calf because my boots rub if I go crew height. That being said, I have a good friend who guides up in Alaska, and he swears by Alpaca socks. I'm not sure which brand, but I do plan on trying them out at...
Spend your money elsewhere. Find a performance-based physical therapist that actually utilizes resistance training in the right way. You will see better results, and that is a guarantee.
Disclaimer: Yes, I am biased because I am a performance-based PT. Yes, I have seen the results of both...
Unfortunately, it's tough to find a ribeye or a prime rib for less than $40 these days. That has let me perfect the reverse sear at home though, so my back patio is my go-to now.
I thought about putting this under the best trail cam pictures, but figured these pictures would be good in their own thread. First time getting a Wolverine on the cam, along with about every other predator in Montana and one real nice Shiras. Enjoy.
