I would love to see a few episodes in New Zealand. For a huge public land proponent in the USA I feel like you need to also show other countries that have excellent public land hunting, nearly 1/3 of the NZ backcountry is public conservation land open to hunting, and while you guys are fighting...
Gidday guys. well the 2016 Roar in NZ is for the most part over, didnt hear a single roar over the past 3 days. Me and me mate didnt down any real good stags, but we got bloody close to nailing a ripper 12 pointer in our roar block 2 weeks ago. cheeky fulla was too clever on where he was...
yeah sorry bro. the uploader used to put up top quality, but Choice TV hit them with copyright. that is why the name of the vid is so #@)(*%*. uploader is doing "gods work" and putting it up for me, a kiwi with no tv, and for you fullas, guys with no access to NZ TV. give him a thumbs up for...
Closest we got to the coast was couple 100m above Caswell chasing a good stag, base camp way up on the tops as both me and me mate hate hunting the bush. Batson from the forum has told me where to look in the upper dingle, good 14 pt taken out of there last year apparently. I hunt the Ahuriri...
Charles first period, same weather as Duley and co in this vid. We got Upper Dingle in the Wanaka Roar this year, 4th period. few cham in there, dont know much about the stags. good fishing anyways!
G'day guys, I know there are some mad keen Elk hunters on this site, and I wanted to share this episode of NZ Hunting Adventures, A free to air hunting show on NZ TV. I watch a lot of North American Elk hunting vids, and as far as I am concerned none of it looks quite as fun as this. I had a...
April and May would be the best for catching both the Red Roar and the Fallow Rut respectively. Good hunting is to be had both before and after the Roar/Rut as well. Tahr and Cham rut mid winter (June/July) and is a serious undertaking.
This is a good resource...
Hunter Training - fallow spiker and a good boar in under 24 hrs. Not my vid but a bloody good look at some typical NZ style hunting.

I am not too sure of how true this is but I have heard that during WWII when all the cullers were over seas and the NZ deer populations were exploding (no predators apart from people) there was talk to try and establish mountain lions. I am very glad this never took place, although it would be...
Oh yep I've seen you around! I'm Micko on fish'n'hunt, naturally. I like hunting the Ahuriri so I'm hoping Upper Dingle is similar. Mate and I had the Juno last year for the bugle but only saw young reds so we didn't bother shooting any. No luck this year but I wouldn't have been able to...
I got 4th period Upper Dingle block 30 in the Wanaka Ballot You have any luck in the Haast Wanaka or Wap ballots Kiwi? Mixedbag, some of the more popular spots are under a lottery during The Roar but there is still way more openly available public land than there are balloted blocks during...
I love fallow deer. I rate them as among the smartest animals. hunting them in the Bluies in Otago you need to look behind you more than in front of you, Several times I have done a loop in the bush and found deer tracks IN my boot prints. sneaky buggers.
in NZ the 44mag would be the more popular choice, with shortest legal barrel and preferable lever action, for charging through the scrub to the bail, shoot the pig if the dogs have bailed it and stick it if the dogs are holding it. but I can see the .280 being more than appropriate if ya...
Cheers for the welcome guys! Baerman: had me laptop and external HD stolen out of me ute a few months ago and lost all of me good pics. I'm still very salty over the loss! Shoots-straight: I have been toying with that idea for a while now. the mining sector in NZ is as far down in the dumps...
