Suggestion for future episodes....
I would love to see a few episodes in New Zealand. For a huge public land proponent in the USA I feel like you need to also show other countries that have excellent public land hunting, nearly 1/3 of the NZ backcountry is public conservation land open to hunting, and while you guys are fighting...- Micko

Closest we got to the coast was couple 100m above Caswell chasing a good stag, base camp way up on the tops as both me and me mate hate hunting the bush. April and May would be the best for catching both the Red Roar and the Fallow Rut respectively. Good hunting is to be had both before and after the Roar/Rut as well. Tahr and Cham rut mid winter (June/July) and is a serious undertaking. This is a good resource...- Micko

I am not too sure of how true this is but I have heard that during WWII when all the cullers were over seas and the NZ deer populations were exploding (no predators apart from people) there was talk to try and establish mountain lions. Any day now, the red/fallow deer rut will start in my area
I love fallow deer. I rate them as among the smartest animals. hunting them in the Bluies in Otago you need to look behind you more than in front of you, Several times I have done a loop in the bush and found deer tracks IN my boot prints. sneaky buggers.- Micko
