    I bought a GMC terrain that had been in a hail storm. The dealership had the vehicles fixed but still sold them at a huge discount. The fact that the car was hail damaged follows it through its lifetime. The cars Msrp was $28,000 and I bought it for $18,000.

    $40k sucks. That's what my starting pay was out of college in 1995. I'd be using my summers and evenings to get into another field like a skilled trade. Hvac, welder, etc.
