Nice, job getting after the fur. It won't surprise me if your top $$ item is a fox they are beautiful. What a difference a few years makes though. Those Mule deer are fantastic and need the cobwebs knocked off em.
Bowhunt- the first animal I trapped was a bobcat for the very reasons you described, I wanted a full body mount. I had a friend that showed me the basics and i bought a dozen bridger #3 offsets. I put em all out and did what any single guy with a decent job would do and bought another dozen...
I had that permit, and it was the most enjoyable hunt I have ever had. Use the full 2 week season and enjoy the hunt. Lots of bulls and they are very patternable.
Good Luck Jonas, I am super impressed with you trying to get this done with an arrow. I have 14 days this season looking for a sheep in that country and goats can be sporadic and nomadic, but I have seen some good Billys. Looking forward to your story thanks for sharing.
I have looked at this thread at least a dozen times, seeing recent posts on both caribou and sheep hunts and realizing that opportunities for both are becoming less accessible every year I am in #504.
I heard this coming, a war on all predators with a 40% reduction being the goal. I will comment against the increased quota proposals, but I believe this came from GG and will likely get implemented one way or another. It is going to be along three years.
Thank you for the heads up and template. I submitted my comment in opposition of the proposal. I suggested that if the biologists think a late season bull hunt is appropriate that it be a limited entry muzzleloader hunt with a limited number of permits.
Toning, I am happy to help I had the muzzleloader permit and it was the most enjoyable hunt i have ever been had. I based out of Cleve creek on the east side. Some of the details are slipping, my tag was at least 5 years ago but give me a call anytime and I will answer any questions you have...
Npaden, that is an interesting way of looking at things, I have spent way to much time looking at tax rates and investment strategies and have never thought about the government needing the money in the future and taking it one way or another.
Wyoming was a much tougher hunt than I anticipated. I went down for 5 days in mid September, I could not believe the number of people and camps in September. It was the most crowded hunting I have ever had. I had trouble finding elk but did call in a decent bull a bit bigger than the one I shot...
RMyoung is correct on the odd provision of having to be 1 year old. I think you can get them an ALS # prior to being 1 but cannot apply for points. My twins turn four this week and are ALS 1&2. The cost of points add up especially since as stated above they may have zero interest in hunting...
