Thought it would dig a little deeper just in case it had to go through some tough bone. As it turned out, a 130gr VLD would have done the same exact thing(broadside behind the shoulder shot). Both bullets shot exactly the same in that rifle, same velocity, same range card, without re-adjusting...
My first fall black bear since 1994. I'd almost forgot how fun it was! Good reason to be extra choosy in the spring. He had over an inch of fat across his back. Should be a good eater.

Exactly.....I just returned from Alaska with a nice grizzly. A dream I've had since my youth. Would have loved to have done a DIY, but a guide or relative is required. It's just the way it is....
