A cowboy walks into a bar in Wyoming and sits down at the bar. He is looking for a little companionship and starts talking to a young lady across the bar.
After a few minutes she asks him if he is a real cowboy? He replies " sure am mam. I wake up in the morning and check my herd, ride the...
Hey Danr,
I have a Savage 112 heavy barrel with a one in nine twist. I believe this thing has the longest throat I've ever seen.
I took three empty cases slit the necks and inserted 60 grain vmax bullets in the cases.
I tried all three to determine a good over all length for my loaded...
I currently use an old pacific press given to me by a friend years ago. The Lyman and Lee shell holders work in the press. I also use a Lyman press and a Lee O frame type press.I use Lee and Lyman shell holders in all of them.
I am going to buy a new rcbs rockchucker.
Will I be able to use the...
Slamfire, Does this mean they will not necksize?
I've been able to adjust my other dies to accomodate the cast bullets with out any problems.
If the m dies don't necksize, I'll pass on them.
Thanks

Anyone have any experience with these?

A month ago I had an invitation to go to the range the next morning and I wanted to load some .223. I had some H335 that I had used earlier in working up a load. I had used 24.7 grains behind a 55 grain hp bt fmj with small rifle magnum primers. I discovered I was out of the small rifle magnum...
Danr, a little off topic, but while we are discussing primers: What would be the effects if one was working on a load that called for a magnum primer with a charge of H335 or similar and you were to use a regular primer instead of the magnum?
I follow the recipes in the books, just curious...
Thanks Danr55! I always like to take an average on the starting loads. I think the 39.5 is a good place to start. I almost never work to a max load, I like knowing where the ceiling is though!!!!!!
Thanks again.

I'm helping a friend learn reloading and
I'm looking for data on 75 grain v max loads for his .243 win.
I have three manuals but none from Hornady. I'm looking for a start load and max load using H380. I have load data in three manuals that have data for 75 grain bullets, but was wondering...
Thanks WDSWIFT, I have had good results using the hp bt fmj 55 grain sierra's using 26 grains 748 or 25 grains of H 335.
Is the Varget an extruded stick or a ball type powder?

I've loaded with win 748 and H335 and both give similar results. I think I prefer the 748 over the H335 beause the 748 charges thrown by my powder measure are much more consistant and it fills up more of the case.
Has anyone tried Varget in their .223? I've been hearing good things about it...
I also have the midway tumbler and use the midway polish on the corncob media. I tumble after each firing and then again after resizing and a trim if needed. I'm not obsessive compulsive, I just like really shiny brass. I like the paper towel in the tumbler idea chainsaw. I always have a layer...
