Hey guys. Been awhile since I posted(about 2 years) but i'm back and need some info.
We are going to put in for an archery draw in colorado this year. Can anyone recommend a unit? Someone local said 71. We have hunted west of Montrose before and I assume those are over the counter, which will...
There is some Weyerhauser around here. They put restrictions on hound hunting last year. Other than that I think they are fair and steady. I've never heard of them leasing to the highest bidder. We lease from I.P. and get constant threats on what they will do if we don't kill more does and get...
Red dots suck for hunting, end of discussion. Just go out on a misty day and try to see through the glare! For target shooting they may be o.k..

That blond headed guy that was on that detective show about 10 or fifteen years ago(was it simon & simon?) is a big advocate of the shooting sports(I think he still hosts the Ducks Unlimited TV Show)
well seasons over here and by the last few days a robo duck seemed to be more hindrance than help. Numerous people reported ducks flaring off of them.
Ducks are not stupid animals, it was only a matter of time.

How many preference points would it take to draw a good Wyoming Moose or Bighorn tag? My goal would be a high success rate on a P&Y or larger animal, with a rifle, guided.
I accidentally posted this under the deer topics earlier today.
Thanks,

Thanks for the info Chris and Raghorn. That definately sounds like the way to go. I'll put in for that sheep too!
Maybe in a few years I can get ol Bcat to put me on one!

I'd have been really upset! That was BS for them to have you in a situation like that! I'll bet thay split the tip.
I've not had a good experience with guides either. Maybe someday i'll get to hunt with a pro like Bcat!

Hey BCAT,
I'm still lookin at a moose hunt but i was wondering if I can buy preference points in Wyoming like you can elsewhere. I don't really have the money to put in for the draw knowing I won't get drawn this year. Thought I might buy preference points for a year or two, and use my money to...
I believe that ducks can see as well if not better than any other creature including a whitetail. They can definately see color, and faces and hands are big no no's. I also believe that any shape that is inconsistent with the surroundings can clue them in(1.e. a blind sticking up on a levee...
Was the wind blowing? Could it have swam under and resurfaced along way away and even if it was dead could the wind have blown it away from you? Ripples or waves can easily conceal a duck sized animal floating on the surface.

I've had a Mathews for four years and see no reason to replace it. It was my first bow and shoots very well. Even after not touching it for awhile it seems like you can pick it up and get right back in the groove with good groups. It just feels good and shoots good. If I did have to replace it...
I used to be an ardent duck hunter. It was the only game I pursued, and my friends and I did it every weekend during the season. We took limits more often than not, and even though we were not in the best areas, I would not hesitate to say that we were amoung the best there was. I'm not...
