It's safe to say, my leave balance will be exhausted by the end of November. Heres my hunt schedule in order by calender date. Hopefully, I'll have some good stories, adventures, pictures, and meat in the freezer by the end of it.
August- Wyoming LE Pronghorn
September- Wyoming GEN elk...
I could possibly be moving back to Montana this year if a job comes through. I havent hunted or lived in Montana since 2008. The job would bring me to the southern part of the state. Im looking at a few towns that Ive only driven through, was wondering if anyone on here lived in those areas and...
Finally setting off for a few days to chase some elk. I figured I would do all of my hunts under 1 post this year. Ive got elk, deer, bear, mountain lion and bird tags in my wallet. I plan on both archery and rifle hunting to fill as much of the feeezer as possible.
Those of you who know me...
Well, I finally sold my camper and I amswitching it up to a canvas tent. I will be solo hunting, mostly in the early season for archery. Right now, my main idea is the Kodiak 10x10 w/stove and heat shield, or the kodiak 12x12 same setup. I see wilderness ridge has come out with a few options...
Short and sweet type of post, just like the hunt. Typical Wyoming spring opener, snowing on the drive and 20 mph winds when I got there. Hiked in a few miles, cut a flock of birds, picked the biggest tom, snuck in to 30 yards and POW. Public land hunting is the best.
Well, elk season went quick this year. Its hot here in Wyoming like everywhere else! I got the privilege of having my wife come out with me for the first time on an elk hunt and this was my first archery elk (normally I hunt late season or muzzleloader). We dropped the kiddos off at the...
After coming up empty chasing archery whitetail, I licked my wounds and prepared for rifle season. I was planning on bringing the camper up with the wife and kiddos, but a snow storm came in. Ended up renting a cabin to make sure the family was comfortable, and they had a blast. I had a walk-in...
I decided to add to the hunting collection today. Browning hells canyon long range with mcmillian glass bedded stock. Nightforce nsx 5.5x22x56. Chambered in 6.5 PRC. Also is the browning hells canyon x-bolt .300 win mag with a vortex razor hd.
I came across this poor bastard out archery whitetail hunting in wyoming yesterday. Looks like he was trying to get the velvet off and wrapped himself up. Ive been hunting my whole life and easily put over a 100 miles on my boots each year. This is my first legit dead-head
I havent found a more difficult hunt than archery pronghorn. Ive been hunting them spot and stalk for 5 years now without being able to harvest... Until now!
I put on about 10 stalks so far this year, always managing to get blown out around the 100-125 yard range. There wasnt any early rut...
We get 7 or 8 different goats on our property throughout the week. I drew the tag for around my house, but its more fun to watch them! Ill have to head to some state land...
I just got an awesome opportunity to finally move to Cheyenne. Im excited to get in on some of the best hunting in the world. I love chasing speed goats, deer, and elk. Ive bought points for the last 2 years so I wont be starting from scrap. Hope to see some of you guys out there!
is the elk/caribou cross artical going around real or fake? Said it was taken by Cameron Haines. https://963theblaze.com/crazy-hybrid-of-elk-and-caribou-confirmed-by-biologist/
Well, i was one of the lucky 15 to draw the 47 muzzy hunt. Ive drawn it once before and the elk numbers were crazy. This year... not so much. Ive hiked to the tops of canyons and glassed for hours and hours. Ive only seen 2 elk so far and its day 4. They are quiet from the archery pressure last...
Just looking for some input on Missouri deer hunting. I currently live in Idaho and the wife and I are thinking about moving out to Missouri where we can buy a chunk of land. I would buy at least 28 acres so I could land owner tags. What is the deer population like? Is there descent public land...
