I’m also in the 11 point club for Wyoming. I’d say the idea of picking a unit and going to learn it is a solid one with the possibility of going back by splitting points. I was in region g this past year with my gf. She drew it in the random draw. It’s really cool country but we had a hard time...
Inside of 10 yards the angle definitely makes pretty small window to get both lungs. I honestly prefer 15 to 25 yard shots when in a stand over 12’ though it doesn’t always work out that way.
I seem to not find as much time for it as I used to. If I have an archery tag out west I’ll practice a few evenings a week all summer and more as the season gets closer. If I just plan to hunt whitetail at home I honestly only practice once every few weeks.
My Minnesota buck and my girlfriends Arizona buck
First time hunting coues and now i definitely understand how people get addicted to hunting these little desert deer. Did see a few bigger bucks but couldn’t get close enough and this guy gave a shot opportunity on the last day.
I didn’t notice any difference with or without muzzle brake so I am leaving it on. I had absolutely terrible groups with the 165 accubonds I also tried the 170 silver tips and they were no better. I haven’t tried the 162 so I can’t speak for them.
I have the same gun and have had pretty much exact same results. I have messed with the stock, re mounted scopes, tried new scopes, shot with and without muzzle brake, tried 3 types of ammo and it finally now shoots good. I have found The only ammo the gun will shoot accurately is browning...
No luck swinging for the fences for antelope. Unsuccessful for the deer tag I was going for I had 2 more points then it’s been taking. My girlfriend did get lucky and got a region G with 1 point in the regular sob in excited for that.
