What is the nastiest place where you have found elk
Finding them is not hard when you hunt......Hells Canyon five miles down the Nee Me Poo trail or the thickest dead fall in Idaho's wilderness. But the hard part is the several trips getting the meat out on your back! -

Youth shotgun?
My sons started with a single shot 20 gauge Winchester 37-A with the rare Improved Modified choke. I think it was also called a Youth Gun. With a single shot they had to make every shot count and it made them better shots. It has taken many birds! If you can find one of them you can't go wrong... -

Reagan airport crash 1/29/25
I just talked to my Son (USAF rotary wing pilot/instructor) via phone as he flew many security missions up and down the Potomac in a chopper. Hunting Arrows for Traditional bow
I would shoot traditional port orford shafts with barred feathers as they are stronger than white dyed. Buy a fletcher and make your own arrows, that way you can replace a lost feather with ease. Back in the 60's I bought 200 shafts at a time from a place called Anderson Archery and fletched six... -

How do you volunteer in your Community?
I contacted the local hunter safety instructor this morning so first time hunters can phone me if interested in harvesting a wild turkey on my ranch. For over 60 years I have taken people hunting or just let them hunt my place on their own for turkey, deer, elk, bear and even lion at no charge.- Bill Zent
