Hunting elk in the rut
Excellent advice from everyone!.....you mention a plan and your plan.....I used to do the same, the elk never followed my plan, don't get me wrong it's imaprative to have an idea of what your going to do, but as others have said let the situation dictate. I see alot more animals now, keeping... -

Worst camp meal
Breakfast = Pancakes w/syrup.....Lunch = flapjacks with jam.......Dinner = Griddlecakes with gravy! guide and camp cook my grandfather!.......good times! he has the same menu with potatoes:) -

Not prepared?
I think you need to focus on your pack....its seems to see alot of stress this time of year!...making sure its prepared is probably more important than any other detail on your hunt!.....good luck anxiously awaiting the full curls!.......and try not piss off the bears i seem to recall a near oh...- DKO

what is a guide ????????
Thats a loaded question...............a guide to some could be a brother, a father or a good buddy to others he's the guy hired by the outfitters to take you hunting, he may or may not have a license depending on where you are. he or she maybe 80 or 18 and may have a wealth of knowledge or none...- DKO
