Shaky, You and the 'Nut have a good safe hunt. Hope ya have some good stories to tell when it's over.
Shaky, do let us know if 'Nut wears a blaze orange vest over his pink dress. ;) WD
Just when you've thought you've seen it all.... :D :D. Nice stands Shaky! Make sure 'Nut sights his rifle in shooting down hill, looks like the over 45 Degree elevation thing may come into play.
Now Shaky just do me one favor, If 'Nut climbs up into that thing wearing his pink dress and a "T"...
Nodak, whether it is the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do, I full length resize every time. I know it shortens case life and all, but a long time ago I had 60 rounds that I had to completely take apart and full length size because they wouldn't chamber properly. That was such a nerve...
I don't know sometimes whether I eat to live or live to eat. The only really foul stuff I ever ate was bear. I gotta go with Murph on this one, Elk WAS my favorite, but it just got bested. So here is the list.
1) Caribou
2) Elk
3) tie Moose & Bison
4) Whitetail deer
Murph I can't believe...
Viperess, you will always remember that look on his face, trust me I know. I have a now 20yr old daughter who is a squirrel hunter extrordinaire. I very well remember that same look on her face.
The person who said "if you get your kids into hunting, you never have to worry about where they...
Congratulations!! You are now infected with a wonderful disease........deer hunting. It breaks out about every year around this time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it though. Good going, and continued good luck. WD
I'm sure that it will work, but maybe I should qualify that with...... which 180gr bullet. I saw a big buck that my ole buddy MLM nail with a 300 win and there wasn't much left that was good to eat unless of course you liked picking out the bone splinters and blood shot. (Of course he only used...
Thanks for the kind words Murph, and same to ya.
It was the experience of a life time to go up to that remote part of the world hunting, and as luck would have it, to be able to get 2 nice bulls. But that is shadowed by the priviledge of being with Murph when that big bull came down the shore...
Well folks there you have MLM's side of this story of what happened in the Swamp. I have pictures to show how MLM spots for his ole buddy WD (which I will withhold for now). Hopefully here are a couple of more pictures of our harvests. Seriously, A public and sincere congratulations to MLM...
I will send some pictures up to Moosie and let some one more talented than I post them.
The website for Club Chambeaux is www.clubchambeaux.com after talking with some of the other hunters from other outfitters, I am really glad we chose to go with them. Some were horror stories, and that...
just wanted to thank all the well wishers that we had before our trip. MLM, myself, and a friend of ours had a trip of a lifetime up there.
We each got 2 bulls. MLM, true to form, got the biggest rack of the bunch, but all the racks were good to excellent. The outfitter, Club Chambeaux...
Ndak, ya'll be careful with that stuff, one guy reported that he used one pound up and the second one (same lot) was the one that gave him trouble.
I aggree with ya though, why would Alliant not have a recall if it was suspect. Another said that Alliant shipped him another right away and asked...
1pointer, not to be repeatative or anything, but I'm with danr in that I haven't reloaded a single rifle case in the last 25 years that I haven't weighed the powder before I dumped it in the case. A good scale and powder trickler are a must for me. If some powder gets hung up in the drop tube...
Just picked this up off 2 other sites.
There is a lot# 25083 of RL-22 that is at least questionable. One report told of how it destroyed his firearm and that Alliant was replacing that lot if you called them about it. WD

Ndak, I just went out and measured the groups that I shot last eve. At 100yds, .412; and .889 on the 200yd group.
Tell me, have you done any gelatin tests with them(i.e. harvested any game)? How did they work? Through and through and a blood trail, or WHOOOMPH and they drop? ;) WD
Tried a 3 shot group at 100yds, and a 3 shot group at 200yds last evening when the wind had died. Results were impressive to say the least on this initial trial.
They were 150gr. shot from my '06 over my pet load of 4064 in Win cases.
The 3 shots at 100yds could be covered by a US nickel, the 3...
