Tobey,
Your one ugly son of a gun. The only guy I know who is uglier than me.....lmao, but them are nice bobcats.......still gonna trade ya a week for a week sometime...lol..

I agree with the other houndsmen....The hunt isn't shooting the game ..its watching your hounds work....and besides you can make a good clean kill from that distance. Your friend obviously hasn't ever followed a pack of hounds because if anyone says hound hunting is easy or unsporting, they are...
Nice bear Tobey......one these days i'm gonna trade a week of lion hunting for a week of bear hunting...you guys have a lot more bears than we do.......hey..was that nite vision?...looks a little fishy....lol...j/k

These are a couple of pictures of a lion that we caught for a guy from P.A. He is the one holding the lion. This was the second lion we treed that day. Caught another lion for his friend the same morning. This guy even called in a coyote and shot it while we were cutting tracks on the...

Hey Hey Tobey,
That looks quite simular to the rig I use. Only real difference is the box on the sled I built out of aluminum. And like you said; I have had guys ride on them short distances....lol.....can get pretty western on the top of the box with a little speed and rough terrain. nice to...
Tobey,
I'm with you, a guy would have to be pretty bored to go and sit for hours or maybe days on a bait to kill a bear. I wouldn't go unless it involved hounds ...particularly some of my own.....but I guess thats why some of us have a pack that we spend so much time caring and training...
Nice pics. Big Sky. My son does some artistic drawing....just drawed a cougar laying on a pine limb.....Hope he stays with it as well......good work again

I use a 357 Smith & Wesson. I have never had any problems with it. I think it depends alot on the slug you use. Some people probly feel better with a 44...

I'm am new to this board, and I'm afraid I'm in the category with "weekend warriors". I have treed many lions, and have filled many clients, but I have NEVER seen orphaned kittens.......and I will put my worthless hounds against yours anyday, and have never seen your hounds or met you either. I...
I'd have to agree with buckshot and Gatoman. I can't believe anyone can sex every bobcat before its grounded. Your trees must be short and thin. I also guide and on occasion our hunters kill a female. And like buckshot I'm not going to appoligize for it happening. We have a good lion population...
For lions I prefer to carry a pistol....22-mag or bigger. If your calling in coyotes...I really like a 22-250 or 223...they are super fast and do a great job without really tearin up the hide....course if you don't care about the hide...any rifle is good..lol

I myself wear Lacrosse packs....your right they are kinda heavy, but I've been caught on some long chases and if the weather isn't that warm...them packs sure feel nice....I would rather pack the weight than have cold feet....just my opinion
Well this is a very good question so I looked up the world record for each species. The Grizzly scored 27 2/16"....the Polar scored 29 15/16"...and the Brown bear scored in at 30 12/16" so it is clear that the Brown Bear is the largest of these.
You might try a book called "Call of the Hounds". It is written by a real well known houndsman named Del Cameron. I personally haven't read it, but I've heard great things about it. I am going to get it as soon as I get a minute> You can order it or find out more about it by looking it up on the...
