Thanks guys, that was what I was thinking would be best was to stick with the 180's but thought I would ask first. Besides I have like 200 plus rounds of 180's lol.
I'm going to Wyoming for deer and antelope in October. I'm taking my 25-06 and thought I would take my 300 win mag as a backup. This rifle shoots well with 180 grain factory loads. I have only shot them. I was wondering if anyone had advice on what other size bullets to try before I go that...
Thanks Moosie. Doesn't seem like that long ago. I am going to try to make it around here more often and keep the posts and pictures rolling of my boys and I hunts. Take care my friend.
How hard is access to public land in 63-2. I am planning on a diy to wyoming with my boys next fall and was wondering if we cou;ld get a tag there if I could find a place easily to take them hunting for their first Wy antelope hunt. My wife and Ihunted near Buffalo last year and tags were easy...
Welcome to hunttalk Whocares. So you definitely know the pain I'm going thru. It's real tough. She was able to die at home in peace surrouded by her family and those who loved her.
Tonya had shot muleys and blacktails and on her last hunt of her life she wanted a whitetail so here she is with her last deer. Not a big one but on the last day of her hunt she was happy she finally had a whitetail. We did not know at the time this was going to be her last evening in the field...
I've been a part of hunttalk since the early days when Moosie founded it. My wife Tonya who loved hunting as much as i do, passed away on June 15th at the age of 41 following a battle with colon and liver disease. For 18 years she hardly missed a day in the field, hunting while pregnant and...
Here is a pic of my wifes little whitetail from last weeks trip to Wyoming. She hoped for bigger but wanted a whitetail all she has ever hunted was mulies and blackatils. She was happy with it, but there is a long story about some bigger ones I won't get into fior fear of her whipping my ass LOL
Here is my buck from Buffalo, Wy area from last week. Not a monster but a good one for the area. 14" with good cutters and mass. I was happy. The gal with the doe is my better half who also harvested a whitetail on the trip. we had a blast gonna go back next year.
The all lead power belt bullets have worked well for me when we had to use them here in wa for big game. They grouped well and we had several one shot clean kills. If you can afford to try different bullets then experiment with what shoots best in your rifle. Good luck on your hunt.
