Huntinfool, we actually pull that trick with cayenne pepper...unfortuantely, though, it gets washed off in every rain, and with the humidity in this neck of the woods the dew in the mornings is often enough to wash it away. We'd be out sprinkling pepper every stinkin' day all summer long. :D...
Raccoons ate all of the wife's yellow corn...now they're starting on the white, but we managed to get some ears out first. Pretty soon the cantaloupe and watermelons will be ripe, and we'll start finding raccoon-sized centerpunches in those, too. Ringtailed bastages. ;) Deer have been after...
Dakota Fanning has been excellent in every movie I've seen her in...the only other one I can remember is "Man on Fire," but there was another one too. She seems to have honest talent beyond the "Home Alone sweet cheeks" that most kids lose after they grow up a little. But we'll see!
Yeah, Moosie, good stuff. Here's a pic of the HTHF hunting area I got off Terraserver a couple of years back:
and here's roughly the same area off your Google software:
The color reveals so much more! :D Seriously, it's not too shabby. I would mention that the purple line is supposed to...
We went for 20-odd days with no significant rainfall, then got dumped on for the better part of a week by the remnants of the last hurricane. Now the frickin' grass won't stop growing. I mowed it on Tuesday and it already needs cutting again. |oo It's almost August, you stupid weeds...
I second what Draftstud says, but add to it that you should make the "long" part in the direction where it will get the most sun throughout the day during the growing season you're targeting. People use logging roads like that with good results. Some day I hope to accomplish something like...
Well, yeah, Moosie, it can get a little wordy in spots...the second book is kind of like the second movie, just a long bridge between 1 and 3. :D The cool thing about LOTR is that there are a LOT of allusions, suggestions, and references to events, people & places which aren't readily explained...
My wife's a fan...she "preordered" hers from Amazon. That's bloody fine with me, because there are few things on this earth that make me want to stand in line for hours, and Harry Potter sure isn't one of them. ;) I read the first one just to see what all the hubbub was about, got my fill, and...
Here's what's going on in God's Country this month:
*Black bears mate
*Fox squirrels born
*Quail hatch peaks
*Black racers, king snakes, rat snakes lay eggs
*American lotus, water lilies bloom in swamps, ponds
*Yellow-fringed orchids bloom on crest of Pine Mountain
*Offspring of big brown bats...
Must've been a full moon, Whiskers...we even had excitement here in podunk! On the 1st two guys from Tennessee (no, not THOSE two guys from TN :p ) decided to rob a bank in Evansville, IN. They had obviously been watching movies because you could see the "leader" on the surveillance tape...
Saturday, picking blackberries and listening to the wife complain about how hot it is...Sunday, mow the lawn in the AM and work in the evening (Speed Vision channel interview of some local motorcycle champ between 9 & 10 ET, everyone tune in! :D )...Monday, there's nothing planned but probably a...
Cali, with all due respect to you, I think your SIL's husband needs a knot jerked in his ass. He definitely needs to be reminded that it isn't "boys being boys," but rather "boys being lucky they're not another statistic." Next time instead of 37 stitches it could be 6 feet of dirt.
We saw this at the local drive-in theater. Let's see...after getting there at a reasonable amount of time before the movie started (which means "late" for a drive-in  ), driving in circles for what seemed like an hour looking for a spot big enough to fit the truck that my wife insisted on...
