Question

Will Tuffthedinkshooter Ever Join the 200" Club? Tuff, Yes I do have a doe tag. Did you forget that we are allowed 3 deer per season. Doe tag is meat in the freezer since I didn't get a moose draw this year. Yummy, tender doe and Big Ol' Stinky 200+ Muley Buck and maybe even a 180+ yummy...

Question

On an average year, I will pass up 40 legal 4 points or better. My standards are pretty damn high. BCbucks and I are holding each other to 200+ as a shooter. Anything less will require a fair amount of ribbing. I learned that the hard way last year. :rolleyes:

Actually I haven't seen a Shooter buck yet this summer. Up until this Sunday, we've had the $hittyest weather for scouting. Hard to see in the highcountry in whiteout conditions :BLEEP: But, before now, growth isn't the greatest anyways. Plan on hitting the highcountry every weekend from now...

Deer Season opener...

Sept 1 through till Dec 10th. 3 deer limit. hump hump I won't be hunting muleys until the 6th due to a family reunion. Overlapping 2 seasons with a trip to the Chilcotin highcountry. That way I'll be able to kill 2 deer that week of hunting. :p My mountain goat tag opens on Sept 1st as well...

Antler full growth.

I agree with the 2nd week week of Aug. HAve seen more mass being put on after that but tine length is pretty well defined by then.

I'm sure we'll see the birth of something alright, the birth of more Bull$hit!!!! ;) December shall be good. Our 3 month Magnum Mulie season ends on the 10th and I'll be in full on cat hunting mode once again. ;) You do recall how many animals I can kill right? :)

Some High Country Pics....

Looks very similiar to a lot of the country I hunt. I'd be willing to bet that there are some big muleys kicking around that country. Just because it's nasty, don't mean they don't live there. Very suitable habitat. :)

Whitetail #127 B&C

Looking at the 11th Edition of the B&C, 127th place would put the buck in the 188 net range. I'm no whitetail pro but I'm not seeing the tine length on that buck to have it net 188. Still one heck of a buck regardless, one even this diehard muley nut would love to hammer.

Horn Seeker, Looks like I'm going goat hunting this year too. Drew a tag in a great unit fairly close to home. Will definately be spending some time scouting for a big billy that I've been watching the last few years.

Muleyslyr, It just wasn't big enough. :) With limited wall space you can't just mount every little buck you kill. ;) He has lots of character but just wasn't worthy of mounting, especially considering the 215 NT I have on the wall next to him. Have my lion and my wolf at the taxidermist right...

What is your best Muley Tip?

That randomness theory won't work for my country. Hard to think if I just stay still something is going to walk past me in the 15 yard window I have in the timber. I need to increase my odds by randomly running into the random moving creature. :) :) I think BOHNTR hit it right on the head...

Calling Moose???

Those Alaskan/Yukon Moose would never stoop sooo low as coming in to a Shiras Call. Don't ya know anything? :) Have messed around with a lot of bulls over the years. Have had a few come in under 10 yards. That's pretty damn cool. Moosies aren't the smartest creatures in the world. :) :)

trip to Canada. Need Help!

Hope you realize you need to hunt with an outfitter in Canada eh? Your outfitter should have some good answers for you about getting your meat and cape home. Most people have it processed in Canada and then shipped via cold storage by some of the bigger shipping companies. There are huge rules...
