i dunno, new to archery so haven't had the chance to see vanes covered in blood yet :)
i just thought it would be a neat idea and if there is no weight difference --- i would try.
so i've googled and found some OLD OLD articles few places and even a link to one company that doesn't seem to exist anymore.
does anyone know if there are "Glow in the Dark" Nocks and Vanes out there? and i'm not talking LED battery operated nocks.
i like the idea of the ones that charge up...
joking aside, most of WY is an easy drive, you can be across the border in 1.5hr from Denver, but depending on what unit you get you could be 2.5 to 6hr, still very doable for even a weekend trip. **tags i pulled for 2021 season, are 5.5hr and i consider that easy after work drive, hunt...
why didnt you say you have 6 pts in WY too. in that case i definitely volunteer to throw my 2pt in there as well, i say we average that out to 4 as a group and i do all the driving :) :)
my choice would be 1st Rifle ELK & 2nd Rifle Deer. in different units so you can experience high mountain Elk back pack hunt, and lower sagebrush Mule glassing. **with your points you'll have plenty of choices and will have no problem getting both tags.
i would also suggest adding WY...
Not sure about 191. But 9 has 0% accessible public land. I got an Antelope doe tag here 2 years ago. (It was my first time applying/ hunting, i didnt know what i was doing or that “City of….” Lands marked by yellow just like BLM on OnX can’t be hunted 🤦. Lesson leaned.
for Antelope 191...
Awesome thanks for sharing.
if its late season and quarters can freeze up on their own while hanging i may not need to put too much ice in there anyways. If i end ul getting 165qt i think ill just bring along my 65qt yeti on elk hunts so i can be safe.
it was a pain to try and load up that...
So far I’ve only hunted CO for Elk where im a resident. So my drives home are only 3-5hours. I like to let the quarters hang a day or two when i get home if its cold. Just must easier to process at home so i prefer to take it out of field on a bone instead of dealing with thag mess in field...
hey guys,
hoping anyone who has 165qt size coolers can chime in.
**not looking to start debate on premium vs cheap coolers. i will ultimately get one of the more premium options.
if anyone has GRIZZLY 165qt cooler, - have you been able to fit average size ELK quartered in it BoneIn 🍖...
i like this thread, lots of good ideas and is relevant to me.

2021 will be my 1st year of trying Archery via OTC tag
so far what i have told myself going into my 1st Archery hunt:
1st Cow gets a free pass (it must be a legit shooting range distance situation to count), any legal...
just out of curiosity, for those who hunted NZ and brought meat back.
do you limit yourself to how much you can bring back? gift some out locally?
whats the general process like?
for work related reasons i have contacts/friends over there, and would like to go one day, but i'd like to...
all depends on the tag. but if you dont apply you'll deff not get any.
last year *(first year for 2ndary draw system)
i applied and pulled Doe tags for Mule and Pronghorn and a cow tag for Elk. all were in the aprx 100 tags left over list, and somehow i drew.
Thanx.
that was still early on so I’ve since moved pins, upp’d bow poundage, moved pins again. You’re right, while tight groups were cool, they did cause split/cracked arrows so i no longer shoot at same target at under 40yrds.
i also have been shooting broadheads: and what’s interesting...
last year i hinted a unit that borders 24. I also went out and scouted 24 few places. This was my only 2nd season (1st season i got a cow in a diff part of COlorado). Anyways i had 1st rifle Bull tag and got lucky the first day (3x5 young bull)
It was the only animal i saw in 5 days. But with...
just did rough math, there are about 450 OIL (Sheep+Goat+Moose, anythign else?) for residents.
wonder how much work it would be for WGF to go through and try to figure out who's the non-res.
Got my Elk cow, Deer buck, Antelope doe that I applied for. All were 2nd choices (after my PP as 1st choice) so i got exactly what i wanted. No Moose in my first eligible year 😭
Now onto OTC and 2nd draw for additional tags 🤞
