It’s not a great tag to go after unless you live out there and have a ranch (or have the access and time to put in). Elk will migrate through but it is very hard to predict when and where. My best friend grew up and lives out east and has had that tag for 10+ years and still has yet to notch it...
Being in CO primarily I normally don’t carry it. On that note, I was amazed at how many hunters I ran into this last week that were carrying it in the backcountry, especially with how much deadfall they were navigating. Guess people don’t know much about black bears 🤷🏽♂️
