I just came back from just south of that area. Have hunted north of Lewistown for years and have always got into lots of Muleys. Good luck, we saw a guy with an absolute toad in his truck on Saturday evening in Lewistown. Should have got a pic, Id bet he was all of 180. He took it out of BLM...
I took my brother in law out to a spot for the Montana rifle opener that always seems to have a few decent 4 point Muleys. We stayed overnight in the "sticks" with our hammocks and sleeping bags, we had patterned some elk coming into a field (type 1 bma adjacent to public) to feed for the 2...
Put several eggs in a blender with whatever seasonings, onions, chunks of butter, etc. Blend. Pour (not easy) into decent water bottle, or container. Heat up in lightweight cup/stove combo of your choice. Takes less time than water to boil, tasty, and has tons of protein. :hump: This with...
Im gonna catch hell for it, but have been known to put a small microwave in the truck. I use a fairly robust power inverter and hot breakfast ready in a matter of seconds. Ive always hated waiting around...
I have the Razor 65mm and it works just fine. I wouldnt want to pack the bigger one but maybe thats just me. I do have an interest in the mini spotters tho. I guess Id rather make it easier on myself to get closer than be able to see them from further away. I havent compared them side by side...
Man I wish I had a picture. I agree was probably a hybrid or whitey with real dark tail. Didnt help it was a small buck made it look more suspect. Ive also seen a couple pure white deer in the same area. Maybe just weird genes around there?
This is crazy, but I could swear I also saw one in the Missions. North of Lake Elsina about 4 miles. Nobody ever believed me and I dont blame em. Was a little buck.
I have a glock 20 with both 10mm and 40 cal barrels for it. Both shoot great out of the gun, but that said I do use the 40 cal barrel becausey follow up shots are MUCH better. Like others have said use what you can shoot well, repeatably.
I kinda feel like most NFL players are spoiled, pampered, unappreciative little (big) brats. Not suprised they would do this and honestly couldnt care. Professional athletes have (with a few exceptions) been horrible role models since I was a child and that probably wont change. My children...
Well if any of you gentlemen plan on being in Montana in 2018, let me know. I have several backcountry backpack trips in the works, and as of right now Ill be solo. Not into hunting in big huge groups, but Id be willing to take another couple guys into some of my spots. PM me if interested
The what ya gonna do about it part just kills me. Someday this guy gonna ask that question to the wrong dude. Rest assured his atv will get him no closer to killing an elk in the meantime...
I would prepare for the worst case. That being absolutely no way to get the truck to the cabin and you have to hike your stuff in. Some years its light, others could be several feet of snow and sub zero weather that time of year...just depends on your luck I guess..
