    For that budget I would be looking at a Tikka rifle with the best glass I could get after buying quality rings. Im about to "pull the trigger" on a new T3x Compact Tactical Rifle in .260 remington. They can be purchased for under a grand in SS. By January I should have some feedback to post up!

    Thanks for your post. I will now be shouldering and possibly shooting the Bergara before I purchase! I like the lightweight of the Tikka, but then again I would likely re-stock it anyways.

    My daughter and I have put on some miles this season. We have seen plenty of elk in my usual spot, but she has been unable to close the deal before they disappear. Im thinking about taking her down towards Dillon in hopes to find her a little more open area and hopefully a better shot...
