no deer or elk for me either. maybe an antelope tag will find it's way to my mailbox in a couple weeks.
mtmiller,
good luck getting your friend onto a big bull. don't forget to share pics! where's your big buck honey hole anyway? ;)

Rockydog,
how about staying home on kid duty like some of the rest of us
seriously tho, i told you my best idea. if nothing else, can i borrow your horses to get my bull out cuz w/o them i'll be eating my bull where it falls!
thanks guys,
i forgot to mention that is a limit of pheasants for 3 hunters in that pic. we each got our 3 roosters by 1 o'clock, which is a great day around here.
Happy Holidays!

my buddy, dad and i had a great day pheasant hunting last weekend.
wish i could do it again, but i'll just have to wait until next year. there aren't many types of hunting that have more action AND have an edible bird hitting the ground.

supersider34,
my dad's buck has 1.5" eyeguards, they're just perfectly concealed by the other bone on it's head in that particular pic.
seems every area i hunt has bucks with and without eyeguards. i'd say more bucks have them than not...
mtmiller,
i haven't scored my buck, but i'd guess...

too bad it took us 9 hours to pack the beast out, and it was friggin' cold, too, but my dad was smiling all the way!
here is a pic of the one i shot for comparison. heh heh

i don't blame you for deleting the thread, rockydog. it is a beauty of a bull and deleting that thread might just get you a shot at another one just like it in the same area next year.
better safe than sorry. some people will go to any length to save themselves the real work of finding a good...

you are the man! you obviously know your muley hunting, plains or not.
i shot a buck that looked alot like yours about 10 years ago. shot him in his bed as well, although i neck shot him and only wounded him. had to chase him to the bottom of the canyon and up the other side before finishing...
kingfisher,
We are finally getting some cool wet weather here in southwestern MT. up to 5 inches of snow in the mountains above 6000 feet last night. 0.5+ inches rain throughout most valleys, which is alot for around here.
I think the week after opening week of rifle is best. the game has...
Well,
I posted these on another site, but here they go again.
The story behind my deer hunt:
I hunted elk, muleys and whitetails on the rifle opener and came home with a 4-pt whitetail. Here's the story (it's kinda long so get ready).
I hiked into my spot in the moonlight. I left my Dad in...
