Porker Medication

Quality of the Hunt

I'd have to say that one of the worst is the guy who uses his rifle scope to glass. I can't count all the times I've been glassing and spotted another hunter looking at me thru his scope. That is probably the worst. ------------------ Chopper Wild Hog Adventures

How could you possibly kill!!??!!

I saw a guy shoot one once with a .454 Casull. He missed by about 6 inches and it still blew the little bugger in half.

Best place for Javelina

Any luck with the hogs lately?

I had a hunt Friday and Saturday, 5 hunters, only killed 2 pigs. Rough hunt. Full moon Friday hurt us, but the 2 we did get were good size. 250+ boar and a 200lb sow ------------------ Chopper Wild Hog Adventures

1,500 lbs of hog ?

My folks once had a 1400 pound domestic boar. I find it very hard to believe that a wild hog could grow that large. I'd have to see a lot more pictures and maybe some video footage. I once caught a 5 pound catfish and dangled it from a tree with fishing line. Then got back about 20 feet with a...

Any luck with the hogs lately?

We have had about 2 to 3 inches in the last couple days. Wind was incredible. Roof blew off my chicken coop and picket fence around yard is in disrepair. Hunted Friday afternoon and Saturday till about 3. Got 2 on Friday, nothing Sat. I have a busy weekend coming up. 5, possibly 6(one guy still...

Shot placement?

Steve, any hog I shoot I'm planning on eating so head shots are my preference. I have shot many a hog with my .22-250 in the head. The only time I will take a body shot is if he's going on the wall. ------------------

How big can a hog get before it is not good to eat

I disagree with the statement about a boar over 150 is dog food. I killed a 325 pounder, ground the whole thing up and added domestic pork fat. I made 2 kinds of sausage and chorizo and it tasted mighty fine. It is true that big boars are usually no good for steaks and chops but I have never had...
