Sadly that's starting to happen here as well though. The libturd states run the people off, who then move to cheaper places to live and then proceed to vote in the same crap they just swam out of.
I would think electronic tags would solve pretty much all of the issue. For the rare person who doesn't have a cell phone these days, mandatory check station before you leave the state. That would provide instant feedback/data for harvests. They could get the results out to us hunters at the end...
I also carry the knife glove. Why risk a gash on your non-knife hand when they're lightweight and inexpensive? I can slip my nitrile/latex glove right over the top of it.
If you ever saw the Randy's hunt episode where they stayed on the mountain near the elk they had been watching, he'd probably tell you his wished he had one along. They nearly succumbed to hypothermia that night because they had no blankets, tent, or sleeping bag. I can't remember the episode...
I don't worry about it. I just loan WY my money for a couple of months every year while I look for a decent place to build on there. Then I'll just hunt the general units every year after I establish my residency. :)
The KY elk draw is completely random. You probably have greater odds of hunting in the Gila in NM lol. Enjoy the whitetail hunting and the fishing. I live about 3 hrs north of Nashville.
Following along with the "multi-use" chapstick, you can carry Fritos Corn chips. Not only can you snack on them, you can light them on fire with a lighter and they'll burn much like any other fire starter. #boyscoutingdays
