If it’s an issue with the trigger then get used to the accu style and be sure you are engaging the center. My wife has a rug at American with similar trigger. It shoots well and we have never had a misfire.
It wouldn’t hurt to disassemble the bolt and clean it. Had a friend this season have...
My opinion is you should never eat meat from an animal that tested positive for CWD. It is an unnecessary risk that would threaten not only you and family but also hunting.
If you want to assume the risk yourself I can’t stop you. But no one should be blindly suggesting it is safe and can’t...
It seems that they are focusing more on very lightweight rifles more for mountain hunting. I’m not sure on all the details though.
I bought a 84 used for my wife. I probably wouldn’t have gotten a Kimber but a friend made a good offer on it. For a lightweight rifle it shoots well. Maybe a...
I believe technically they are supposed to inspect with you there. Unfortunately, many do not know their own regulations. It also usually isn’t the best to argue the point with them.
I’ve been fortunate both times flying to have them inspect the case in front of me.
I would go ahead and report it to your airline explaining the cost of the hunt and how it cost you. I doubt it will result in anything but perhaps you may get a voucher or something.
Definitely a good reminder for us to keep the tags with us for carry on. Can generally barrow a rifle from a...
Take just about any bullet and someone will swear by them and someone else calls them junk.
One friend has taken several elk with them and still uses them. Two other friends took elk with them but have now switched to others. I personally prefer a mono or bonded bullet.
I have debated getting a bird dog multiple times the last couple of years. I haven’t been able to do it because work is busy in the fall and I also like big game hunting. I’m worried either I wouldn’t do the dog justice or I would give up more of my big game.
Whether flatbrimmer was referring to me or not you don’t need to dog pile on if you don’t know. I joined recently but have read posts before. I’m just not really the social media type.
Let buyers and sellers do their own due diligence. I understand there are scammers but longevity and number...
I think toughness is somewhat subjective. Yes all else being equal older animals are generally tougher. However, I’ve never had one that had to be all ground. My dad once shot a lead cow and I don’t remember it being noticeably different than his other elk. You don’t hear many people say not...
Sounds like your committed to this so do what you want. I really don’t see the point since as you stated will still have to do due diligence. Also people will have to remember to go back and update the list/post. I view this as maintaining.
Like I said do what you want
Maybe instead just use people you’ve bought or sold to as references for future transactions? It’s an extra step but easier than trying to maintain a list. Whatever works best though.
I will admit I’m a pretty new member. I would read posts but never joined until recently. I ended up doing a trade for bullets with Jbotto. He did question since I was new. I was able to provide enough for him to be ok with the trade. We are both satisfied with the exchange we made.
I think...
GMX is Gilding Metal Expanding bullet. Primarily a copper bullet alloy. I believe 95% copper but don’t quote me.
CX bullet is Copper Expanding Bullet. Basically the same as the GMX they just updated. You’d have to ask Hornady what they changed.
In either case they are considered monolithic...
