.300 Wby Mag Loads for Elk
My hunting buddy has a 300 Wby that loves the 180 partition Weatherby factory loads. I said we should try and duplicate that load and save him from the $90/box cost. I was surprised to find that the load that seems to have done the trick is with RL19. Even the slowest other powders would not... -

Elk Bullets

What kind of bada$$ hounds would you use to trail wolves? The pics of the unfortunate wolf #822 mauled in yellowstone by neighboring pack makes me think no hound would have a chance. Moosie, I have always been curious but not looked up the tax treatment on the Lease to Own. I assume you treat it strictly like any other rental until the transfer of ownership. Do you lose anything? CA deer tag
Congrats, I have not lived in No Cal for 4+ years, but outside of the Bishop area that was "the" zone. I had a high school buddy who got to hunt that back in 83' with his dad. He killed a heavy 32" 5x5 and his dad killed a 34" 4x4, but probably gross scored around 190. Great genetics. -

Idaho Draw - Delayed
I spoke with someone I would consider an insider at F&G yesterday and heard that there was some unexpected last minute turnover in the dept that handles the draw which severely delayed the data entry and we are looking at another week to 10 days. Sorry.- bkondeff

I don't post much here, but having been born and raised in N Cal, I will second what BOHNTR stated re: Trinity. Go and google a little you will find some info. You might check out JHP aka Jesse's Page as they are mostly Cali guys and do some searches on hunting the Trinity Alp's. -

6 weeks from Last Friday....
Aug 30th Rifle for Elk in Owyhees(Unit 40/42) here in Idaho. For my son of course, I would never get the chance to draw that tag.
