I dont competition hunt but my dogs are all registered, I have had X-breds that were as good as regestered dogs but what do you breed to next?
I believe competition hunting is breeding more...

I havent ever visited this thread because I dont hunt turkey, but I have tons of them on my farm Anyway... I see a few turkey from time to time that have some white feathers mixed in, kinda gives them a gray appearance :confused:

My 8 month old met her first skunk the other night. Normaly I would just let the smell wear off, but this dog has been kind of a house pet(the kids decided this on their own)I have done my best to keep her outside the past few days but the kids miss her and want her back in the house

Using another dog to train is the easiest way to do it, as long as you training with a good dog.

One thing I have realized over time is Ethics have nothing to do with laws. I have watched hunters shoot at deer and not even look for it, assuming they missed they walk away, when I go over to have a look I find a dead or wounded deer not far away. Twice I have seen this happen :( I think...
I know a guy who hardly ever even lets his dogs out of their kennel during the off season, last week I hunted with his dogs, I was amazed at how good they were, considering they never get out!

Funy things can happen when you shoot an animal, I too like the BT's for deer, I have never had a problem with them. It seems to me you can shoot 10 deer hitting the same place on each of them and get 10 different results, some drop, some run a little, some a lot!

I just ordered a new tracking system Friday! I went with the hand held Tracker Maxima, You can get the bigger units a little cheaper, but I know myself well enough to know if its heavy or a pain in the arss to carry I will eventually get lazy and leave it home!
