I commend you for taking the situation very seriously and letting it bother you. I've known a lot of people that make a bad shot and just say oh well and move on. I even had to force one guy that I let hunt my property years ago to follow a blood trail because he thought it was too faint and...
I never got a response from anyone with any experience with him back when I started this thread but I came to the same conclusion. Something didnt seem right or should I say it sounded "too good to be true". We ended up doing a DIY in CO and had a great hunt so glad we didnt waste any time or...
Based on your usage it sounds like they would be fine. I considered buying a few different ones but none of them were stable enough feeling for me but I mainly use it for zeroing. I do have a Caldwell Field Pod on the chair and it works great for just practicing but again isnt stable enough...
My buddy and I shoot in front of his shed. There are more than a few holes that I'm embarrassed about ... or I should say, we used to shoot in front of it. His wife just made him get a new shed this year and she said we're not allowed to set the targets in front of it anymore. I'm not sure...
I bought my first suppressor last year and really didnt feel the paperwork was that bad. I did one of the silencer shop kiosks and it worked great. It did take forever (8 months) to get it approved but otherwise very happy I went down that path. It does cost as much if not more than several...
I bought my Platinum F150 years back and I still remember the sales reps face when he heard I was going to take it hunting. He literally said "you're going to take this truck hunting?" to which I responded why else would I want the off road package? Kind of like the OP said most people he...
What setup do you have? I have a Tikka T3 lite in 30-06. Being such a light weight gun, it would pound on me when I first got it. I could tolerate it but if I shot a box at the range id have a good sized bruise to show for it. Fast forward a few years and someone recommend to try a limbsaver...
I grew up in Spring City TN and went to school in Murfreesboro but have hunted all over the state. It's a great state and most places are nice and welcoming. However, to get a decent price on land you'll have to stay away from the big cities. Otherwise it really depends on the terrain you...
Oh ok. Since its a T3 and not a T3X I'm assuming its out of the 2 year warranty but did you try contacting customer service to see what they say as it should be pretty clear its an original defect and not one that developed after the fact.
Just to clarify, are you saying the recoil lug does not go into the notch in the action or are you just saying its a sloppy fit? I have a Tikka T3 in 30-06 and noticed a little wiggle room as well as some indentations showing up on the recoil lug. I got a new Titanium recoil lug and glass and...
We rifle hunted that unit a couple years ago for mule deer. The antelope were literally everywhere. Other than the normal challenges that come with archery hunting an animal, I cant imagine it would be hard to harvest one there. I think in 5 days of hunting I can honestly say I saw over a...
Yes, I'd look at permit hunt opportunities. Most of the non permit public land is overhunted. I hunted Dare Game Land and Texas Plantation permits and had a great time. Only complaint about permits hunts is they are short. Each was only two days.
This was my first gun as well only in 30-06. I think they all had feed issues because the action was so sloppy.
I cant say I regret buying it as it was the spark that set me off on my now obsession with hunting. I couldnt afford anything else at the time (that I could find locally) so had it...
I just got mine back in January. Took just over 7 months for approval and a couple additional weeks to get the stamp. 10 months seems a little long based on all the reports I've seen on the NFA tracker website. Have you called the atf to check the status of it?
I have a friend that has two electric golf carts they use for getting around his hunting property. They are great people movers and are extremely quiet but dont have the torque to do much else. Also his property is fairly flat which is good because with four people in a cart, they dont take...
