2023 Official WY NR Antelope FAQ

Residents, yes. An NR with under 21 points for moose is a fool to apply for WY moose this year thanks to the cuts. Even bigger fool if he/she buys another $150 moose point in addition to the $100+ to apply. I spend alot of money across the west, but WY moose for an NR is one of the worst...

    Wyoming moose

NR? You will have 21 WY moose points in 2024? Sorry, but that almost surely won't be enough for even the worst bull tag. The pyramid scheme is falling apart just before you decided to cash in. You will be chasing those measly two random tags from here on out. Hopefully you didn't waste...

    What’s your tag tab?

Subtract that $355 deer tag cost from $2308 and it's $1950 in non-refundables (for 2 people). So, about $975 in non-refundables per person. Zero tag costs in there. Many are spending 2-3 times that in non-refundables, easily. Randy Newberg's non-refundables are likely well more than...

    What’s your tag tab?

I was happy to see 90/10 in WY so that I could stop paying those silly credit card fees. Seems like a lot of money to give a credit card company for a minuscule chance at 1 random ram tag. Hopefully you’re going after the preference tags. My one man non-refundable total is probably just...

Thank you for your service. With your service related disability, I don’t think you should have to spend so much time on draw system ideas/documents. Are you lined up with the various orgs? Multiple states? A service related disabled veteran should be kept busy with tags. PM me about 5/1...

… And if your state is 100/0 ratio on NR Moose/Sheep/Goat/elk (SD, ND, NE), well, then you get 0% of NR tags in other states (all species). CA & OR would also have their lack of sharing reciprocated. You give 0.1-3% to other NRs, then your allocation is reciprocated.

Ahh, you hold stock in the CC/banks profiting off these pretend/reversed transactions. You like moving money around to profit the banks (stockholders) and limit competing applicants from a lower socioeconomic class. Well played. I would refund for death & deployment orders. For all those...

    Who deserves a tag?

Make sure you're not applying in Wyoming. If you're still sending Wyoming money, then they know they can keep giving you less and keep raising prices. You vote with your dollar, not your words. I'm amazed at the horrible deals I see NRs apply for. WY moose/sheep. MT point collection (all...

Make a new draw system from scratch.

True- almost all 90/10 states have a subset with different rules. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't strictly apply 90/10 to their best tags. 90/10 with loopholes is nothing like 85/15 across the board.

Huh? you must live somewhere with no tags any NR would want. AZ is about as strict a 90/10 state as exists. NM is a 6% NR DIY allocation state (10% outfitter allocation is BS – that doesn’t count as NR allocation…). Oregon? 3-6% NR on many species CA? 99.9% to 0.01% ratio on elk/sheep? NV...

Nevada FCFS Virtually Dead for NRs

Bull chit point protection is already inherent in the Nevada process. But you want them to use an AZ process instead and charge separately for it?

Nevada FCFS Virtually Dead for NRs

Donate to an organization, lose your points and go in to any waiting period Or, turn it back in, get all points back, get point for current year. I wonder which folks will choose?

    ID nonres sheep/Moose/Goat apps?

True - a PhD level statistician should be able to get it absolutely correct. I think alot of these services employ mostly hobbyist statistician/hunters in most of these numbers jobs. ID G&F clearly doesn't have a handle on this concept. Or, maybe they purposely present the % column in a...

CPW director on leave after complaint of racist comment

He's probably about 45. Sounds like he has exactly 20 years of WA PERS service credit, making his exit from that state's retirement system feasible. #2-3 guy in WA bags the #1 job in CO - Good for him! He's going to be working with numbers with a lot more zeroes than he is used to.

    3M Stock

Oh, 3M is doing that bad. Read up on "Tax Loss Harvesting" and how you can use up to $3,000 in capital losses to off-set $3,000 in W2 income (annually). Be careful how you do it, but I would probably slow-roll those losses out of that account to off-set income tax on W2 income. But make...

    3M Stock

Shouldn't lose one-third as long as kept it 12 months to be a long term capital gain. He is probably in the bracket where he pays 20% tax on long term capital gains. And I hope that anyone having a discussion about issues like this has himself adequately protected with liquidity, cash (to...

    3M Stock

Sounds like you used post tax income to buy in to your ESPP. That is a different issue than paying short term or long term capital gains tax on the growth when you go to sell your investment.

    3M Stock

I would absolutely keep buying ESPP. 10% of salary @ 15% off. No-brainer. How/when to sell (and diversify) the accumulated balance becomes a much more difficult question and I can't begin to answer that. Sounds like some might even be sold at a loss. Might be able to net zero those with...

    3M Stock

All so true and very important. I see people inappropriately extrapolate that logic to certain types of stock options and leave money/growth on the table. They hear the above logic and then immediately exercise options upon vesting. And lose the opportunity to keep the company's money for a...
