Have been shooting crossbows since they became legal in Michigan back in 2009 and haven't looked back. Killed my first buck with a recurve bow back in 1980...on public land from the ground in a natural blind that I made. Have probably killed over a hundred deer with vertical bows, so I know a...
Just ordered a Leica Amplus 6 2.5-15x 50 L4-a 50310 and am excited to receive it! If it's anything like my Leica rangefinder, I will love it. This scope will reside on my new Browning X Bolt White Gold Medallion .30-06.
I have all 3 types. I have a VX Freedom 3-9x 50 that I bought for my Winchester Model 70 Featherweight .308. For Leupolds bottom level scope, it ain't too shabby! Mine has a 30 mm tube because it has the Firedot (illuminated). No frills like a CDS or side focus. Decent glass, nice...
You think you are freaky? My rifles calibers have to match the rifle manufactuer. Weatherby rifles: .257 Wby mag, .300 Wby mag, Winchester rifles: .308, .264 Win mag, Remington: 7mm Rem mag, Browning gets a pass as they don't have a specific caliber that I know of: 6.5 Creedmoor, .30-06...
I still do. Regarding center fire rifles, the smallest objective that I have on a scope is 44 mm (VX-5HD 3-15x 44 Firedot), largest 56 mm (VX-5HD 3-15x 56 Firedot). The rest of them (a bunch) are all 50 mm. Absolutely love the way that they look sitting on a rifle, along with a 30 mm tube.
As far as Vortex scopes, I have had 6 Vortex Viper XBR crossbow scopes (not at the same time), and they are great scopes. Granted, they were used on crossbows, not rifles. I put a new Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x 50 V-Brite on my T/C Omega, but haven't shot the M/L yet. The glass on the Crossfire...
Same here. Hate a cluttered up reticle, don't need it. Several of my Leupolds have a CDS dial...don't need that either for where I hunt. Do really like the Firedot feature though. Actually, don't need magnum rifles for where I hunt either...have 4 of them though because I love them (.257 Wby...
I have a Weatherby Lazerguard in .257 Wby. mag with a 24" barrel. All I have ever shot out of it is Weatherby factory ammo. Started out with Barnes TSX 100 grain, and lately have been using NBT's in 115 grain. Both have been devastating on Michigan whitetails. Rifle is crazy accurate, and a...
They are great...I have one of those with Firedot, and one with Firedot in 56 mm. Congrats! The 56 mm is better in low light, but not $300 better, IMHO.
