I would certainly use them both. This year, the first week of firearm season I carried either my Featherweight .308 or Mark V .300 Wby. mag. The second week I will carry either my Lazerguard .257 Wby. mag, or my Super Grade .264 Win. mag. I will let the 700 LSS in 7mm Rem. mag. sit this...
I have a Weatherby Lazerguard in .257 Wby. magnum. Love this gun, beautiful stock, crazy accurate, and a wicked deer killer. Remember, the .257 Wby. magnum was Roy Weatherby's favorite!
The Leupold VX-5HD's are great scopes...I have 2 (3-15x 44 Firedot Duplex and 3-15x 56 Firedot Duplex) and love them. And as others have said @schmalts is the man! I used to have a .30-06...Remington Model 700 BDL topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x 50. Killed my biggest buck ever with...
I have a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x 44 on my Super Grade, and a VX-5HD 3-15x 56 on my Mark V...both scopes are Firedot Duplex. So tonight I decided to do a side by side comparison in the woods behind the house at the end of legal shooting light (1/2 hour past sunset in Michigan) with both scopes set...

I have an older Vari-X III 3.5x-10 50mm Duplex in silver on my 700 LSS...nothing wrong with that scope either...have to use a coin for scope adjustments, and doesn't have a Firedot, but have killed a few nice bucks with this combo over the years.
I use the Leupold Dual Dovetail rings/bases. I believe that I had to use high rings with the 44mm. FWIW, this scope is mounted on a Winchester Model 70 Super Grade SS, in .264 Win. mag.
I have 2 VX-5HD scopes...3-15x 44mm Firedot, and a 3-15x 56mm Firedot and love them! Have not looked through a VX-3HD. The 7mm RM is an excellent do it all big game rifle...I have one in a Remington 700 LSS, and like it a lot. Also have a Weatherby Lazerguard in .257 Wby. mag, and it is a...
