Experienced sharp-tailed grouse hunters, what do you think? I've been hunting deer and antelope in an area I've never hunted and I have been running into insane numbers of sharptails. They're always in exactly the same spots and exactly the same habitat. Is it normal for some areas to be like...
Hunting big game as a non resident is a privilege, not a right. Raise the price until the odds drawing a general elk tag are 1:1. Increase the price of everything else each year by whatever CPI is. Owning things (in this case, Wyoming citizens "owning" wildlife) is not cheap. There's nothing...
In all seriousness, although I've never read a CJ Box novel and almost certainly never will (I'm more into authors long dead), I respect any guy (or gal) who gets rich writing "cookie cutter" fiction. I also won't dis a person who spends their riches and free time in exactly the way I imagine I...
In 2022 I had the most miserable elk pack out of my life. I've been itching to get back and do it again. I drew the tag! Hopefully the pack out is more enjoyable this time around.
Applied for 2 elk and 1 antelope. Drew first choice cow elk and second choice antelope. Will probably pick up a general deer tag and a fall bear. I've been running into bears a lot more the past couple years.
If I’d have to pay twice as much for a bull, I choose Cows in WY. Hunting bulls is not twice as fun as hunting cows. Seeing and hearing bulls is fun, but when it comes to killing, Elk is elk.
I would discourage a non-resident from applying for this unit unless they lived in Fort Collins and could drive to the area a couple times a week in December and January.
Yeah, the east side is worthless. I wouldn’t take that route. It appears it was never legally a county road. That the commissioners decided not to start the process to make it official is what has me seething. The private owners on the west end can now block access. That’s what kills me.
